Genuine OEM left-hand front torsion bar for the Mahindra Scorpio S10. Part 0401ABB00191N — the splined spring bar that carries the front of the vehicle and sets its ride height, fitment-verified and export-packed.
A torsion bar does the same job as a coil spring, but instead of compressing it resists being twisted. One end is splined into the lower suspension arm and the other into an anchor on the chassis, so wheel movement winds the bar up along its length.
The advantage for a vehicle like the Scorpio is packaging: the bar runs back along the chassis rail rather than taking up vertical space above the wheel, which leaves room for the front driveshafts on four-wheel-drive models.
Because the anchor end is adjustable, front ride height is set by winding the bar rather than by fitting different springs. Over years of service bars take a permanent set and the height is wound up to compensate, which is why a sagging front end that will no longer adjust usually means the bar itself is finished.
After fitting, the ride height must be set to specification and the front alignment checked. Camber and caster both move with ride height, so a bar changed without a follow-up alignment will wear the front tyres.
Clear answers for importers, workshops, and distributors.
0401ABB00191N is a Mahindra OEM suspension component for Scorpio S10 (S10 · left hand side). Torsion Bar LH is supplied with fitment verification for export orders.
No. The bars are handed — they are wound in opposite directions so that each side works in the right sense. 0401ABB00191N is the left-hand bar. Tell us which side you need, or order both if you are renewing the pair.
Usually yes. If one has taken a set after years of service the other will be close behind, and replacing only one makes it much harder to get the vehicle sitting level. Most workshops renew them as a pair and reset the ride height afterwards.
