Genuine OEM standard-size piston ring set for the Mahindra Scorpio 2.49, 2.5 and 2.6 and Bolero 2.5. Part 0312BC0200N — compression and oil rings for all four cylinders, export-packed for international freight.
STD rings are for cylinders still at their original bore. If the engine has been rebored to an oversize at a previous rebuild, the standard rings will not seal — measure the bore or check the engine's history before ordering. Oversize sets are quoted separately.
The set covers all four cylinders with the compression rings and the oil control rings for each piston.
Rising oil consumption, blue smoke on acceleration after idling, low or uneven compression and pressure in the crankcase all point at the rings. A wet compression test that improves with a squirt of oil in the cylinder confirms rings rather than valves.
Hone the bores before the new rings go in, gap each ring in its own cylinder to specification, and stagger the gaps around the piston. Rings fitted into a glazed bore never bed in.
