Part Guide

Hyundai and Maruti Suzuki parts made in India: which ones fit European and Caribbean versions?

An India-made Hyundai or Maruti Suzuki part fits your vehicle when its part number matches the part number for your VIN. The model name alone is not enough. The best matches are vehicles that were built in India: their VIN starts with MAL (Hyundai Motor India) or MA3 (Maruti Suzuki India). Examples are the Suzuki Jimny sold in Latin America and the Suzuki e Vitara sold in Europe.

Even for an India-built car, some parts differ in Europe because of left-hand drive, EU type approval (lighting and emissions) and market-specific equipment. These parts need extra care:

  • steering, dashboard and wiring on left-hand-drive cars,
  • headlamps and other lighting,
  • exhaust and emissions parts,
  • engine control units and other electronics.

Which India-made parts fit Caribbean and Latin American versions?

Hyundai Motor India has exported to Latin America since 2003, and Suzuki ships India-built Jimny models there. Many of these vehicles come from the same Indian plants, so India-made parts are often a direct match by part number.

Check the driving side first. India drives on the left, so its cars are right-hand drive:

  • Right-hand drive, like India: Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, the Bahamas, Guyana and Suriname, among others.
  • Left-hand drive: the French Antilles (Guadeloupe and Martinique), the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and most of Latin America.

Steering, dashboard, wiper and some lighting parts depend on the driving side. Most engine, brake, filter and suspension parts do not, but always confirm the part number.
